A Moorish touch

Throwback to visiting Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech. <3

I’ve always noticed so many similarities between Morocco and Mexico when it comes to architecture, from the vibrant colors and tiles to the courtyards and beautiful use of arches. I imagine much of this can be traced back to Spanish colonialism and its Moorish influence.

For instance, Frida Kahlo’s Casa Azul and studio in CDMX immediately reminded me of so many places I saw in Morocco. Same for the Botanical Garden of Oaxaca - add to that the cactus galore and you’re immediately transported.

Étiquette with Baronne de Rothschild

My current hyper fixation, savoir-vivre french style with a touch of extreme honesty.
Baronne Nadine de Rotschild  believes elegance is a discipline, not simply an aesthetic. Her rules were famously precise: never complain or explain, dress with intention, master the art of hosting, lie about your age, deny deny deny and always dress to please your husband.

She also believed beauty is not given to everyone, but charm can always be cultivated just as being in a good mood.

Her signature style: leopard print, polka dots, long pearl necklaces, and perfectly brushed hair: always polished, never accidental. Obsessed!! I need her etiquettes books asap...
